I just love these pants! They make me feel so sporty. #sportyspice.  I picked them up at For Women Only while I was in Yellowknife and I haven't  taken them off since!!   I go from the office, to sales meetings and the soccer field in this outfit.   Athleisure is the absolute perfect trend for my crazy busy life. The  Italia Sweatshirt is one of my favourite pieces of our SS2015 collection, and just happens to be 50% off this weekend!!  Hope everyone is having an awesome kick off to the summer!  And for the record, it's actually warmer in Yellowknife then Toronto this weekend! How knew?

Ok I did it.  I got myself a pair of wide leg jeans.   This is quite the departure from the distressed skinnies I have been rocking for what seems like forever.   My husband call these my Mackenzie Phillips Jeans.   Every time I put them on, he starts humming the theme song to 'one day at a time'  It's at about that time I wish I had Schneiders tool belt to wack him in the head with!  #marriedlife

Behind The Scenes for SS15

A lot of creative things happen in and around the office, but photoshoots are definitely one of the many most fun things . It's great to see awesome models rock our collection and bring the clothes to life ! Photoshoot days are sometimes over the top stressful, but our team keeps up the energy and we power through with sushi !

It was a blast working with pretty model Aislinn for the first time, and frequent make up artist Carmen ! (@plutino)

Here is a cute little behind the scenes video of latest vintage shoot.   I have to say, carry the vintage clothing on our site, is a total labour of love, and passion of mine.   We ain't running off to Tahiti with the margins on this line I tell ya. But it is something that everyone here at preloved, just loves.  It is the thrill of the find that keeps us all going,  and it continues to inspires us in our design process of our own collections.  So take a peek here, and here!  For the record, I am the only one in the office, that can truly work the fan!!  It's not in the arms, it takes the whole body !! That's 20 years experience right there!

Jules Approved: Night Out at Rose. Rabit. Lie.

I was asked by vegas.com to step up to their Vintage Nostalgia challenge and style an outfit for a night out at Rose. Rabbit. Lie. in the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. Rose. Rabbit. Lie. transports you from the chic modern times of the Cosmopolitan to the roaring 20's with its vintage art and shabby chic decor. And you know how much I love making vintage chic...

1. Apple Dress // Preloved
The Apple Dress is from Preloved's Spring/Summer 2014 Collection. It has an aztec print on a silk blend fabric and features vintage lace on the lower panel; easy to dress up or dress down. Another reason I chose this dress is because the feminine drop waist is very 1920's.

2. Fringed Cardigan // H&M  
This cardigan is all about the 20's fringe that Rose. Rabbit. Lie. is about! It glitters and shines in the light; a fashionable choice that will make you stand out from the crowd.

3. Statement Charm Necklace // Topshop
To add some sparkle to this outfit, I chose a statement charm necklace from Topshop.  This necklace sits perfectly and has so much to it, it really captures the eye.

4. Bow Booties // Zara
It's all about the details with these bow booties from Zara. The small cut outs and front bow are so unique to this pair of boots. The slip on back makes them easy to put on for day or night and make you appear effortless chic.

5. Fold-over Clutch // Tory Burch
I am in love with the colour of this Tory Burch clutch. It doubles as a chic handheld clutch and shoulder bag for the woman on the go.

6. NARS Lipstick // Sephora
A bright lip completes this look for a night out. This NARS lipstick is available in tons of shades, but for a night out a bold, feminine colour is the best way to go.

The Glamorous Life

In the heat of the summer, is when the team at preloved, is in the heat of processing vintage wool sweaters. To be honest it seems like we never stop processing wool sweaters, but during June and July we are in the thick of it.  It takes a lot of time, ( and hands) to sort though over 100'000 sweaters, which is what we will need to create our Fall 2014 line.  The sweaters need to be inspected for damage,  colour blocked,  sorted into texture groupings,  prepped for washing, then we hand them over to them over to the manufacturing team,  which is where the real magic begins! So as you are sitting on patio's this summer, feeling like fall is a million miles away....rest assured that the team at preloved is hard a work, creating the prefect winter sweater for you! xox

Vintage

We have had a ball putting together this new Vintage Shop on our site.  It is so fun to get out there and hunt for the greatest find. It reminds me of when I started preloved, we used to sell vintage along with our preloved line.  But now, selling curated vintage on line, is a whole new ball game, and we are in the first inning!  Keep your eyes open, we will be adding new pieces daily, probably one with your name all over it!

How We Do It: Liza Skirt

Lexie and our intern Megan are hard at work cutting out the original waistband of vintage jeans to make part of our Liza skirts! These skirts are truly made in Canada with lots of love. (Next time we'll be sure to coordinate design and production better, so Lexie and Megan won't be stuck slicing and dicing denim for hours again!) No worries, the Liza skirt will be available on our site in April.
