It's pretty amazing when your kids start to do things you can't do. I think it's a real turning point in your parent child relationship. For so long they are these little people that need you to teach them everything. You teach them how to eat, how to walk, how to tie their shoes. You are the leader and anything they can do, you can do better. Then all of sudden, they are rushing down a ski hill whipping through gates, wait a minute..I can't do that, couldn't do it if i tried. How did my 10 year old get better at something than me. It definitely is a strange feeling. It is feeling of pride, excitement, and a little sad, all at once. I am just thrilled that for the moment, I am a better speller than him! God knows how long that's gonna last!
