Warehouse Sale.....

It all starts tomorrow  This is gonna be a big one.  I am quite emotional these days, as you can imagine! This well be the last sale held at 881 Queen Street West.  We will be closing the doors to our boutique on Monday Jan 27th....so you do not want to miss this sale!!  Nothing more than $70!  Let the party begin! #seeyoushoppingsoon!

Goodbye Queen Street, Hello World!

Wow, I can't believe I am writing this. It is official. We will be closing our Queen Street West boutique at the end of this month.  It feels very strange to put that in writing!  This is something that I have been struggling with for some time now.  Having been on Queen Street for almost 19 years, you can imagine that this was not an easy decision to make.  I mean, I was only a 12 year old girl when I signed the lease here (ha-ha)! But, after lots of soul-searching, it just felt like the time was right. 

The preloved brand and company has changed and evolved so much over the last 2 decades, and, although our heart is on Queen Street  West, our customer base is global.  We are now carried in over  400 stores worldwide  and  have had successful collaborations with retailers like Anthropologie, Roots, Indigo, and  Holt Renfrew.  Designing and manufacturing for the wholesale market has been the company’s primary focus for some time now, along with our online boutique. 

Although change is always scary, I am quite excited about what the future will bring for preloved. “If you are not busy growing, you are busy dying”. This is a quote that I have lived by for the last 19 years of running preloved. I think it’s a paraphrase of a Bob Dylan lyric. I read it somewhere and it has always stuck with me.

 I want to thank all of our preloved customers who have supported us for so long.  Don't worry, we won't be far.  Between our wholesale clients, our pop up shops, and our online boutique, you will be able to find preloved anywhere and anytime! And make sure to pop in to 881 Queen Street before the end of the month!!  Our warehouse and store closing sale, starts on January 22nd!!  You don't want to miss this one!!  See ya soon.

Every year, the month of February hits me like a ton of bricks.  You would think I would be ready for it by now, but no matter how hard we prepare for it, this February  is always  more overwhelming than the last one..  It is the one month of the year, when three seasons hit us at once. - we ship out spring 2013 collection, we begin the ride of selling our fall 2013 collection , and our annual warehouse sale,wraps up sales for Fall 2012. All this in a month with 28 days!..man I love a leap year!

Pretty in Pink

A friend of mine reminded me how preloved this movie was. I had totally forgot about this movie, but it was one of my favourites, and I think was the birth place of preloved.  Good old Andie ( Molly Ringwald) creates her own prom dress, out of two old dresses.  One, from a friend, the other, a thrift store  find.  I loved the scene when she makes the dress, then turns up at the prom, looking stunning, no matter what those rich kids think.  Then of course, she ends up leaving with the love of her life!
Oh how I wish life could be a John Hughes film!  In the mean time, I have to find a location for our annual warehouse sale! Wish me luck!
